Deal Night
Home poker organizer
An all-in-one app for organizing recreational home poker games — scheduling, RSVPs, a synced blind timer, and live results without the group-chat chaos.

The challenge
Organizing a recreational home poker game means juggling group texts, spreadsheets, and a phone timer. The brief was to replace that chaos with one app a host trusts enough to stop cross-checking the group chat.
“A host trusts the app enough that they stop cross-checking a group chat.”
The approach
- 01
Built a scheduling flow that captures date, location, buy-in, and blind structure, then invites players by email or phone.
- 02
Tracked RSVPs and attendance in real time using Supabase realtime channels so the table state is always live.
- 03
Added an in-game control surface — check-ins, a synced blind timer, walk-in players, and results.
- 04
Closed the loop with leaderboards and photo uploads, and made the non-gambling stance explicit in the FAQ.
Design iteration
Designed around the moment of play
The defining decision was to treat the live game — not just the scheduling — as the product. The blind timer, check-ins, and walk-in handling were designed for a host running a real table with friends around it, where anything fiddly gets abandoned mid-game.
